green and a birthday

peonies purple

Can you handle another week of color?
green starts on Monday. If you want to join in on the fun head over to Emily's spot and let her know.

I'm looking forward to finding the little hints of spring in my world.
And who am I kidding, green is one of my favorite colors.

~~~
Its Daddy-O's birthday today.
santa cruz Andy
I stopped by a new cupcakery in town (make that the only cupcakery in town, I think) during my lunch break and got him two little treats to help celebrate the day. I was hoping to get to share in the sugarfest but he wasn't at his desk when I dropped in his office. I wish I would have had my camera on me because the only thing better than eating a cupcake is a picture of a cupcake (err, the other way around?). I didn't get either.
He's been celebrating all week by going out for a drink or dinner with his friends after work, tonight is no exception. He has been given 'the night off' and is headed out to play darts and hang with his buddies. (He has always celebrated his birthday in more of a birth-month fashion. Celebrating each second of the last year and a bit of the new one. Maybe we should all do this, who couldn't use a bit more celebration in thier life right?)
Little A
We will have family over tomorrow for dinner and celebrating.
I love you Daddy-O, happy birthday!
slipping by
carlos' tail
An old photo from a really great road trip I took about a year and a half ago with some girlfriends. We were staying in a sweet little place along the Rouge River, OR.
Been thinking a lot lately about time.
How it can drag on slowly or slip away from you like the dandelion fluff in the summer breeze. You watch it as it drifts off, dances in the light and then disappears.
How is it that it can do both at once??
Daddy-O's birthday is this week. I have a new desert picked out to try and an old favorite (green enchiladas) for dinner. looking forward to seeing the family.
Hope all is well in your world. xo
I had big plans for this week of yellow. My head was spinning and my eyes were on the look out for all things that were the color of sunshine and lemon drops. But then life gets in the way. Work and a sick baby made the day move in warp speed and before I knew it the light was gone and my eyes were tired and just need to close.
We are on the upswing I think. O's nose is not nearly as stuffy or runny as it was just a few days ago and tonight we got in the biggest, giggling and peekaboo match yet. Oh to hear that giggle is better then all the sunshine and lemon drops in the world. He is definitely on the mend.
One thing that this week has got me doing is thinking about giving myself an assignment, but not being too hard on myself if I can't complete it- after all there are only so many hours in the day. And not being to hard on myself if the creative outcome isn't exactly what I had in mind. Just getting behind the lens and PRACTICING is worth it. (just like getting on my mat and practicing, even if it is just for 10 minutes a day)
Here's to Friday. Enjoy the weekend friends!
a little spot in the laundry
Is it wrong to buy a new shirt just for yellow week?
We have a sick baby on our hands. There is lots of nose suctioning and nebulizing going on over here. He is a trooper though and hopefully by next week he will be feeling much better.
Hello Yellow
Day one of Yellow Week.
yellow room
desk
Our guest bedroom is located on the north west side of the house and on the first floor. This means it gets very little light except for a small portion of the day (and then the light is awesome). When we moved in I opted for a bright lively color to make it inviting and cheery for our guests. Yellow works just right in there.
Thanks again Erin for inspiring us to find the bright spots of our world with you! For more yellow head on over to the flickr group.
(These photos were taken using the Through The Viewfinder technique, if you are interested drop me a line or head on over to the TtV group on flickr)
Let's Talk
LetsTalk
it was a nice Valentine's Day. hanging out with my boys and then dinner (all you can eat sushi ) and a movie (Slum Dog Millionaire). The movie is haunting me and has me thinking of going all Brangaline and adopting kids from India.
Today is cloudy and trying to snow. There are sausage rolls in the oven and coffee in the pot. The boy slept in past 8am this morning, a new record so we are all feeling rested and well. No real plans today other than enjoying the day off and happy that we have tomorrow off as well.
I hope everyone had a day full of love yesterday. Our hearts sure are full.
looking cool
If we are going to embark on a week of yellow, we better put on our shades and look cool doing so, right?
I am already plotting what I want to shoot for next week... I like when I am inspired, feels good.
snow
snow, originally uploaded by NessieNoodle.
Wishing it would do a little more of this soon.... we are going to be spitting on our plants this summer otherwise.
And if it is 50 F in February, what does that mean it will be in July?
(east coast, send us some of your winter please)
