It was a wonderful long time off, but I do have to say that nothing feels better than my own bed and the wet nose of two schnauzers that missed me as much as I missed them.
Thanks to our dear friends, K & B, we got hooked up at the Hyatt. Probably the nicest room in the joint- this was our view for the first half of our trip-
We had so much fun vacationing with friends and even got to visit with an ex-Renoite who has moved to the islands for a job. He introduced us to coconut syrup and macadamia nut pancakes. It is a little bit of heaven on top of heaven.
The wedding, was nothing short of beautiful and sweet. I was so happy to be a part of it all.
The second half of our trip A and was spent with just the two of us in "Up Country" Maui. We did lots of exploring- snorkeling/whale watching, watching the sun rise and then set, sitting in sand, getting tossed (maybe a little too violently) by waves, lavendar farm and much more that is escaping my jet lagged brain right now.
I have lots of photos to still go through, and will be adding them as I can to a flickr set over here here.
It is good to be home!
If you are participating in the cookbook collaboration with me can you send me an idea if not the recipe for what you are going to contribute to the book? I would like to get a better idea of what we have and what we will still need to round out the whole thing.
Aloha friends!
Welcome home! I know it's cold and dreary, but it's home. Sounds like you had a great time, can't wait to see the pics.
ReplyDeleteI have tagged you for a meme. When you get settled in, come by my blog and then write your own.
