Ace-ball

We spent the evening watching the local minor league team, The Reno Aces. I was within inches (even skidding and falling on my bottom) of catching a ball- but some guy nabbed it before my big, old, pregnant self could snag it. I got applause however from the crew watching and had to laugh when the guy in the cowboy hat (left in the frame) yelled, "You should have dove for it!".
I responded saying, "POP goes the weasel". tee hee.
Later, when they were throwing little promotional soft baseballs to the crowd a (different) guy brought over the one he caught and told me, "Ma'am, even though it isn't a real ball, you totally deserved this!"
It made my night. See, there are still gentlemen in this world.

O had a great time playing on the playground equipment and then rolling down the hill that we were sitting on a million times.
Daddy-O enjoyed hanging with his buddies and having a beer on the lawn.

I love that our city has put this ball park in and is redeveloping a part of down town that so needs the atention. It is good for our community and fun to have such a great spot to spend a hot summer evening with friends.

  1. Your stadium looks as lovely as ours. We've been planing a baseball outing forever & just haven't gotten around to it. I now have a renewed vigor for it! Thanks for the reminder.

  2. I was gonna say, if he didn't offer it to you, he was a jerk. I mean come on stealing a ball from a pregnant lady? The only thing I can think of that would be worse, was stealing a ball from an old man with a cane or a small child or something. :)

    Love the pictures! So pretty.

What a nice guy, giving you the ball. It's sounds like loads of fun. I haven't gone but I think I should this summer!
