The strawberries are in full force in the back yard right now.
The boys love to go out and check on the plants, pick the sweet red berries before the birds can and water them in the evening
I usually don't get a taste since the kids eat as they go, but I spotted this sweet little gem last night and had to take it's picture before I put it in the bowl to be washed and enjoyed.
The light was perfect and long last night as the first evening of summer set. I am looking forward to things this year.
Last summer was so sad and stressful. Even though I had half of the season off from work, it wasn't exactly a vacation- more like an emotional roller coaster.
Look back at it now it is hard to believe so much change occured.
It looks like it started off in a beautiful light (and look at how much has stayed the same, and how much has changed from then, just a year ago)

I have a feeling this year will be much more relaxing and enjoyable.
Here's to a beautiful-bountiful season!

Why have I never visited you here before?? Such a gorgeous place! Thanks for the comment on my Death Valley post - it's magic, isn't it? And FYI, my eight year old just walked in the room and completely unprompted said "That's a sweet picture." at the kids in the doorway. :)
ReplyDeleteKim! thank you for such sweet words about the blog. I feel so old school with it these days, it has become a quiet space (I am fine with that in so many ways, but often wonder if it gets seen by others, too).
DeleteGlad you stopped by and YES to Death Valley- something about being so low in elevation must create a special energy...
