week 1

A week deep into the new year. A week deep into my new photography challenge. So far, so good. I need to make a point to shoot when there is still light in the day- seek out that light and use it. Although, the night shots and the creativity that I have to pull out is good for me too.
I hadn't set out to do the project in black and white, but so far it feels right. There is something about stripping away the color that makes these stronger and like I am learning more- more about light, texture, post-processing and myself.

Stripped

This week's prompt for Digging Deeper has been "Stripped"...  

There are lots of directions this could go, but don't get all excited about what I am going share here..

The clothes stay on, but the color is gone. 

Keeping it simple, clean and full of high contrast. 

The other way I played with the idea of the week was to start stripping away those negative things the mind tells me-

Putting on the positive affirmations and tossing those other thoughts to the side.

 and that I AM enough.

Journaling

I think she is going to be my little artist. When it gets quiet with her in the room, you know it is because she is in the zone of creating.

Give her a pen, a crayon, (or anything really), and she is going to write, draw (or make that 'anything' into something it wasn't initially intended).

This evening she chose to write in the book, though she doesn't limit herself to paper. I call her Kat Von-D since her other favorite pallet is her own skin.

She is so beautiful... I am loving to watch her grow and become more and more "Fifi".
