Just a few more...

"Dive in Movie"... unfortunetly, they never did get the sound going for the movie and the kids went into melt down mode, so we left early.

What a fun idea though.

Arizona style.
I wanted to take this for a little joy ride.

A few seconds later we looked away and then looked back and all I could see was her little hat floating. I nearly went in with the camera, but Andy was much faster than me. 20120527-_MG_2576 20120527-_MG_2582
She was totally fine, just a little water logged... But it was still scary.
We headed to a less crowded pool for the rest of the afternoon where it was easier to keep our eyes on them.

Headed to the smaller pool we went. Something about these types of photos get me. Maybe because this is what I see so often as I tag along behind catching pictures and soaking in my family.

We had a great vacation. I am so glad I said, "Yes" to the idea....

Poolside, PHX Style

the boys
Friday, we had the place practically to ourselves.  The busiest it got all day was when the crew of about 15  10-12 year old boys running from pool to pool, playing tag and having a great time would come crashing into 'our' pool.
It was such a perfect way to start our first full day of vacation.

Sunning and watching the kids play in the pool with a hibiscus flower that Andy picked for me to wear and enjoying my "Storm Warning" foo-foo drink felt so luxurious...

O gained so much more confident in the pool over the weekend. It was great to watch him get comfortable and be at ease in the water. Like his Jojo, he doesn't much like if his head gets wet, but he will float and bob and splash a ton. And Fifi, oh Fifi... .if there is water near, these she (and her Daddy) will sniff it out and find her way into it some way or another...
The lady bug floaties were the best purchase. Although we originally bought them for O to wear (he picked them out and everything), his sister got much more use out of them than he did. He preferred his blue vest much more once he was in the water.

It was hard to get them out, but warming up in that hot Arizona sun felt good.

Next up? To the ZOO!!

splash down

We packed a lot of activity into last weekend. It's the way it gets when the sun starts to warm things up, we just want to be out and about.
On Saturday, after naps, we gathered swim suites, swim diapers, life jackets and towels and headed over to the Grand Sierra Resort to splash in the pool.

We had no clue that everyone else in town had the same idea, too. It was a happy, splashy, packed pool party in there.
The kids had a blast. O-Boy had on his life jacket, and he got really comfortable. Enough so that he let us let go of him as he 'swam around". Watching him gain confidence in the water is so much fun. Fifi, on the other hand needs no time to get comfortable.

The girl was shaking in excitement to get into the water. Literally.
We couldn't turn our heads for a second, she is my water baby. I think she drank half the pool during the hour we were in there. I held out my arm and she would point me in the direction she wanted to go.
O jumped off the edge into the pool and she was scrambling to get up there too. I wasn't quite ready for that so it was all about diversionary tactics at that point.

This was a perfect dry (wet?) run for our upcoming trip to Arizona where we will hang out all weekend long at a hotel with a huge pool and water slides. I can hardly wait.
I bet the kids, can't either.
