1st week

hand holding 091408One week down, or gone, or wow how did a week go by so fast.

We are getting to know one another and figuring out tricks to keep everyone happy. Sleep in 3 hour increments is welcomed and showers are almost as good as gold.

We have had visitors and a few outings. We even got to meet a new cousin that was born on Saturday, on O's one week birthday.
(yeah, its a baby boom around here and we can only imagine what kind of ruff housing will ensue in a few years with three boy cousins all the same age).

Some how the days fly by even though there isn't much more than feeding, dirty d. changing and sleeping- oh and all that star gazing that happens in between. I could stare at him for hours and hours and hours.

He makes funny noises while he sleeps, what could a one week old be dreaming about? He sneezes 4 or 5 in a row and sighs afterwards (just like me). He smiles, and even if it is just gas, it makes us smile right back.

The dogs are getting used to the strange little thing that has taken over their spot on the couch and the bed. They follow me into the nursery to make sure I am changing him properly in the middle of the night, just in case...

It is all magical and crazy. I can hardly believe I am really a mama...

  4. Every time I read a new momma's journey, I sit in amazement and awe, and wonder to myself if I will ever be able to handle motherhood, or handle not venturing into it. Thank you for sharing your experience and your bundle of unending cuteness, too!

    Cheers,
    Melissa
