February's 5 on 5

Even though it's only two or three days shorter than other months, February moved at the speed of light! My family and I have been busy packing and preparing for our relocation to Tacoma, Washington.

    From a creative shoot.

We said several goodbyes to friends and family, and we celebrated my nephew's (6th) and my husband's (40th) birthdays.  It's been bittersweet, to say the least.

 Yummiest cupcakes for a 40th

Over the part month, I was able to take photographs, that I think will go down as some of my favorites yet during a few special client sessions and photographer meet ups.

Fun session with a friend and photog.

I shot film, digital, and iPhone images and still can't decide what my true favorite camera is, I like it that way.

    Amazing boudoir session

Please excuse any grammar or spelling errors in this post, I am writing from my iPhone as my computer is tucked away in the moving truck. One more sleep unit we hit the road north!

     Spinning in the sun

Now head on over to see what Adrian was up to last month.

December 2013 - 5 on 5

December was so incredibly full. I celebrated my birthday, we had lots of family time and friends around. Christmas was sweet and simple. I finished my 365 challenge and photographed three special families. I can't express how full I felt as the year ended. It was almost a complete opposite from last year. My word, my heart, and my life is pretty amazing. I can't wait to see where things lead in 2014.
Make sure to head over to see what December 2013 looked like at Smallroots when you are done here.

O flying his new glider toy at the park. I love how both he and the toy are on the edges with the big blue sky filling in the space behind him.

This lovely lady and her family made my heart fill with love. Laughter really is good medicine.

5 on 5

This is an exciting new project I am embarking on with some amazing women. We will be posting Five of our favorite photos from the previous month on the fifth day of the month. We each might have a little description about the image and the moment, maybe a lot, maybe nothing but the images themselves. We will then pass our lovely readers (that you!) on to the next person on our list.

sounds like fun? Okay good!

Here we go....

Kristina's Yashica. I got to meet up with her while she was visiting Truckee and we had such a wonderful time talking 'shop' and playing with all the cameras we were lugging around.Shot with my Canon 30D with the 28mm 1.8 lens

There is the BIGGEST rainbow I have ever seen out there right now. #homemeansnevada #biggestlittlecity #thisisreno

Somewhere is here. This was hands down one of the biggest rainbows I have ever seen. And it was right out our backyard. Shot with my iphone 5, edited with vsco app.

I did shoot film last month, but I was unfortunetly not able to get to the camera store to pick it up before this post had to be written.

Head on over to Adriana's blog and see what she has to share with all of you today...
